In the summer of 2013 we hiked the High Sierra Trail from Giant Forest to Whitney Portal in nine days. You can see almost 500 photographs from this hike in my Flickr album: https://www.flickr.com/photos/simonov/albums/72157635222443247
We averaged about 7.4 miles per day. We were on vacation, after all.
While I did not record the hike with a GPS, I have drawn each day's route in Caltopo. I think nine daily tracks is more useful for research and mapping than a single track of the entire hike.
There are three file types:
o GPX tracks are standard files you can import into almost any GPS device or mapping application.
o KML files can be imported into Google Earth for a very nice 3D representation of the route.
o PDF files are maps or spreadsheets related to the hike.
